Lake Superior State University (LSSU)

Located in the town of Sault. Ste.Marie overlooking picturesque Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, LSSU provides a blend of technical and liberal studies in a small-town setting. The Disability Services of the University desired to provide the latest in wireless technology-assistive listening systems for their students and faculty in their classrooms. After contracting with Hearing Loop Systems to set up and conduct a “demo” of the induction hearing loop system in one of their classrooms, it was decided to purchase a unit for the Library 203 Lecture Room.

One of the IT managers stated that the Univox P-Loop 2.0 is “just what the doctor ordered” for the improved hearing technology required in today’s classrooms. The University’s Disability Services Director made the following statement – “This need is what led to the purchase of the portable hearing loop system. It can be installed in just a few minutes with any existing audio system and provides greater exibility in meeting the expanding needs of our student population. Students who have experienced the loop system are amazed and impressed with its outstanding clarity and crisp intelligibility that it offers. The loop greatly improves our student’s ability to both hear and comprehend in the classroom!”

Now that the Univox P-Loop 2.0 loop system is available on campus as a portable unit, it can be set up with any sound system within 30 minutes for optimal use in any classroom or lecture hall at LSSU.
